New Patient Health Checks
The Doctor sees all new patients for a health check within one month.
Child Health Surveillance
Children under five years have regular checks by the doctor and the Health Visitor in order to assess development, hearing and speech. The Health Visitors visit the surgery on Wednesday’s from 13:00 to 14:00. They will give you advice on child and family health. The Health Visitor can also be contacted by telephone (01234) 310850. Routine child hood immunisations are given by the practice nurse.
The Community Midwife works with the Doctors to provide Care for the mothers before and after delivery, and care for the baby for the first fortnight of its life. She holds a clinic at the surgery on Wednesdays between 9.30am-11.30am by appointment. She can also be contacted by telephone at this time (01234) 355588.
Examinations are usually performed by the practice nurses but can be completed by a Doctor if required.
Confidential advice on contraception is offered during all surgery times. For Ladies on the oral contraceptive pill please make appointment with the nurse or doctor for a check-up every 12 months.
Patients with Asthma, Diabetes Heart disease or high blood pressure are seen regularly in these clinics, run jointly by a Doctor and a nurse.
We provide a comprehensive service for minor surgery (minor skin lesions) and joint injections. This should be discussed with the Doctor first.
Rheumatology Follow Up Clinic
Thursdays 4pm – 7pm
Over 75’s are entitled to an annual health check with the nurse, If you are housebound we can arrange to see you at home.
The practice Counsellor is available and holds sessions at the surgery. Please See the GP to arrange a referral.
